Global Health Research Initiative
The Global Health Research Initiative is a partnership of three Canadian government agencies. The partners are:
Health research with a global scope
As a research funding partnership of three Canadian government agencies, the Global Health Research Initiative (GHRI) brings people together from different countries, sectors, and areas of expertise to tackle the complex problems that affect health around the world.
Our goal? To support researchers and decision-makers in their efforts to develop effective policies, programs, and strategies to improve health and strengthen health systems.
GHRI programs fund innovative global health research and strengthen the ability of low and middle-income countries to carry out and use research as they work to improve the health of their populations.
GHRI also helps Canadian researchers gain global health research experience. GHRI support has enabled Canadian researchers to collaborate with researchers and decision-makers in more than 60 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean.
